LYNDA BARRY IS WHAT IT IS!

Our lecture last Tuesday was done by Lynda Barry, who Illustrated the book "What it is". It took her ten years on the computer to write it, but she felt she wasn't getting very far. So she chose to hand write her book and start working with her hands. Lynda talked a lot about what makes up an image, the whole book is about trying to define what an image is. She also discussed a lot about thought processes and how your mind works. I almost felt like I was in a Psych class but it was really cool because I enjoy psych. She said that using your hands helps you problem solve in your head, I thought this was very interesting. She was a hilarious speaker and I even got to meet her after the lecture! I asked her what her secret was to singing without moving her lips and she told me how to do it. I waited in line for 40 minutes so I could receive a free copy of her book last week and she signed it. Here I am with the book that she signed for me.

Photoshop Project 2

This time the project was to combine five of our own pictures together to create a new one.
The main face was from my profile reflected in ink. The background is of NYC in central park, the teepee is from a Juicy Couture window display, and the other face in the bottom left is of a sign from South Street.

Photoshop Project

The assignment was to take a photo and change it by placing another object into the image to change the meaning.
